How To Climb Mountains

by Donna Maria on July 1, 2009

Yesterday was an exciting day for me. I worked a full day, but at the middle of it, I climbed a mountain. Literally. It was no Mt. Everest, but for me, it was a very big deal in my quest for optimum fitness. When I reached the peak, I immediately thought of you, and wanted to share with you this message of encouragement.

  • This is awesome dM. Your commitment to yourself and your family through a reinvigorated interest in physical fitness is commendable. I just climbed over a big mountain with our latest website design. The original company that I paid to do the work essentially ran off with our code, after I had paid them, leaving a functional but not update-able website. So, I had to pony up the money to a new company to rebuild the site from scratch. It was a long climb up that mountain but I'm almost to the top of it. I can see the end. And now, I'm going to go climb another mountain of sorts - hitting the gym before work! =)
  • As you know, and for anyone who doesn't know, you are one of my biggest inspirations in this area. Watching your commitment to both your business and your physical fitness was one of the sparks that lit the flame under me. I love the new mountain you've climbed -- your new website looks fantastic!!
  • I got a mountain of debt to climb over (kinda my inspiration to figuring out how to make money on the side). I always remember this age-old advise: the journey of three million miles begins with a single step. So, stepping off I go!
  • Yes, it does begin with a step, and also a goal and a plan. I know you can do it. Keep us posted on how things go and we'll be here cheering you on!
  • I didn't climb any mountains today...but after watching this video...I surely could have! You are positively glowing and your inspiration runs deeper than you know. Thanks for taking me up to that mountain top for a moment and sharing your hard earned success. Keep up the good work!
  • Encouraging comments like this keep me going. I keep my eye on you, lady. You climb mountains every day in that fantastic business of yours. You inspire me to keep pushing forward. Thanks for sharing so many empowering moments with me for the past 10 years. I continue to love every minute of serving you!
  • Congratulations! It is a great accomplishment to make it to the summit. I love that you've been sharing with us weekly your steps in preparing yourself for a climb like this. Like you said, a year ago you wouldn't have thought it possible, but you've done what is necessary to accomplish your goal. As an Indie business owner, it reminds me to continually prepare myself to be successful in climbing those mountains.
  • I love it when you post this kind of thing. I know you give great business tips and loads of information to help us all along, but... these kinda posts really rock.

Solid Coconut oil is my demon. I've sat sulking at the pail of it since 6.30 this morning, willing it to put itself in the pans.

It is no longer in the pail. It didn't climb out by itself though. I read your post and it was music on, sleeves rolled up, and it sure feels good looking at two empty five gallon pails. I've even posted on my blog, and embedded for the very first time. It's my music-to-soap-by. I defy anyone to sit on the sofa after hearing it.

Here's hoping other Indies will climb their mountain today. Whether it's big or small... my best to you all.
