Featured Indie: Maggie Hanus of A Wild Soap Bar [VIDEO]

by Donna Maria

Last month, I traveled to Austin, Tx, for the first time, to deliver the keynote for the Lone Star Soap & Toiletries Conference. While there, I was excited to once again see Maggie Hanus of A Wild Soap Bar — located just outside Austin.

Maggie is one of IBN’s first members and it has been my honor to serve her for nearly 11 years as IBN’s founder and leader. (Geesh, I’m getting old …) Maggie’s successful business is a testimony to the benefits of small family business ownership. One of her sons is now employed as a chief soap maker, and Maggie does a lot of the bookkeeping for her husband’s landscaping business. One of her mottoes is “The family that grinds together binds together.” Love that!

You can find out more about Maggie’s products at her website, and you can follow her on Twitter and join her FaceBook Page.

My husband edited this video and I think he did a great job! You can find out more about his services at his blog.

Remember: the things we make, make us. I love sharing my members’s success stories. You can learn more about IBN at our benefits page, and you can procure affordable products liability insurance at our products liability insurance page. You can learn more and more about IBN members and their products and services at our comprehensive directory where you can search for people and products by business owner name business name, state, country and/or type of product desired.

You can also just have fun networking with us and other people who love making their own beauty products for fun or business at our social networking site.

Question: Have you ever tried Maggie’s soap? (I have, and my favorite is Sunflower.) Do you love handmade soap as much as I do?

Great video, very informative for the budding soapist in all of us. We make handmade soap as well. Just starting out but it is a ton of fun to come up with new scent ideas. We are actually running a contest right now to win free handmade soap from us. Stop by our site http://www.sudbuckets.com for more details.
