My Blog Mentors

Each One Teach One

I believe in the concept of "each one teach one." If we all commit to teaching at least one person what we know, we will improve ourselves, those we teach and the world. Since joining the blogosphere in 2005, I have learned a lot, and it gives me great pleasure to share with you what I have learned, starting with my Blogging For Business Tutorials.

But I didn't learn how to blog by myself. I had some great mentors. If you want to improve your blog, read these blogs and study their examples. Meet my blogging mentors.

Brian Clark: an Internet guru who also happens to be a great teacher, especially when it comes to helping people write great copy.

Darren Rowse: all the way from Down Under, and with a great sense of humor, Darren is really good at sharing blogging tips that can be applied to any business model.

Seth Godin: author of many books and a person who can pare down a complex thought into a form even I can understand.

Tasra Dawson: an incredibly giving, kind and inspirational woman who blogs about something I know little about -- scrapbooking. But she makes it fun and interesting and is an example of good video blogging.

Yaro Starak: If you want to make 100% of your income from blogging, Yaro is a good example to study. If you don't want to make 100% of your income from blogging, Yaro is a good example to study.

What About You?

Enough about what I have to share. Now, tell me what you know. If you know of some examples of great blogs, feel free to share them in the comments section below.

Hey dM,
Thanks for more great resources. I've been doing some blog research and am just about ready to launch one-soon I hope!
I'm going to check out the links to your blog mentors as well.
But I have to put you on the list too as a Blog Mentor!

A-M:

Happy New Year! Thanks for visiting. I have never met Seth Godin in person. Just communicated by email and keep up with him through his blog and books.

dM

Very cool - I'm unfamiliar to all of the names except Seth Godin. Do you actually use him as a coach, or just follow his work closely? I'm a fan of him as well but haven't ever gotten to meet him.

Hi Donna Maria,
Thank you for the info. I know it will be helpful considering I am just a beginner with the blog and wish to expand as my business does.
I, too, am a true believer in sharing what you know - it's great for the soul. Also, it will come back to you in one form or another.
Have a great day!
Best Regards, Wendy Goudie, Owner, Gwendolyn's Gate

thanks for your kind words - it's really encouraging to be included in this list.

Wow, I'm up there with Brian, Darren, and Yaro. That's an honor, for sure!

You have definitely taken off in your blogging. Reading your blog and seeing your progress makes me feel like a proud parent or teacher...you've come a long way baby!

Thanks for the mention. Keep up the fantastic work!
