I'm Quoted in Maine Business .com

Behold, the Value of Your Time

My friend and fellow Indie Beauty Network member JoAnn Hines, the Packaging Diva usually does a much better job than me of using Google Alerts to track when people are featured in the media. Good thing too, because if she didn't, I might not know that my article about the 3 people who will kill your business was quoted in Maine Business.com earlier this week.

It's always an honor to be quoted for anything I write. I am so pleased that Carl V. Natale, also known as the "Duke of URL," thought enough of my article to include it as part of his article on the value of time. In "Don't Do This Yourself," Natale talks about DIY Guy, the name I gave to the Indie Business owner who feels like he has to do everything himself. Natale suggests deciding whether or not you should perform a particular task by assessing the value of your time. Natale says: "Is it cheaper for you to do it or find a vendor? What can you do with the extra time? There's the chance it will be spent doing something that brings in money."

Good advice Duke, and thanks for including me in your article.

The New Bionic Woman

Move Over, Lindsay. A New Bionic Woman's In Town

Do you remember The Bionic Woman, the popular 1970's television series staring Lindsay Wagner? (It's been recently revived.) Well, now that she's appearing in Sleep Number Bed infomercials and hosting "Quiet the Mind & Open the Heart" Experiential Workshops & Retreats, a new Bionic Woman, Jami Shopf, has taken her place -- at least in the beauty world.

Jami publishes the Bionic Beauty Blog. Each Friday, she features a different person's thoughts on how to "Achieve Powerful Beauty." Last week, she featured what I have to say on the topic. I am honored to be featured in Jami's popular blog, and even more honored that Jami has accepted my invitation to be one of the judges for the 2009 Indie Business of the Year Awards! Stay tuned!!

I'm in miSPA's Blog!!

Such an Honor to Be in Mimie's Blog

A few weeks ago, I spent several glorious days with Indie Beauty Network member Lori Nova of The Nova Studio teaching a series of classes at her Business Boot Camp and hosting Indies in the City. While there, I met IBN member Mimie Wong of miSPA in Alameda, California. Mimie has been a member of IBN since October 2006, and so while I knew what a fun, smart and creative Indie she is, it was very exciting to meet her in person and add an embrace to an already sweet business friendship.

Earlier today, while tooling around IBN member sites, which is one of my favorite things to do, I went to Mimie's site to see what she's been up to since we met last month. When I clicked on her blog, I was pleasantly surprised to see a photo of me and Mimie at the Boot Camp!
