Does Your Small Business Need Insurance?

A Survey Designed to Help Me Serve You Better

As you know, one of the things IBN offers to its members through a highly rated insurance broker is products liability insurance. I am currently working with the company to expand the types of coverage offered to include professional beauty service providers such as estheticians, nail technicians and cosmetologists, as well as manufacturers and distributors of products like herbal supplements and nutraceuticals.

Would you take a short 10-question survey to let me know if these types of coverages would interest you?

Click Here to take survey. You are not required to leave your personal information unless you wish me to follow up with you.

Thanks!

Free Legal Advice For Your Small Business

In my adopted home state of North Carolina, the state bar association runs the North Carolina Lawyers For Entrepreneurs Assistance Program to provide struggling and "low wealth" businesses owners with free legal advice.

If your business is in North Carolina, call (800) 662-7407 or click here for details.

To find out if your state has a similar program, and to see if you qualify, log onto your favorite search engine and type in "Your State Bar Association." The search results should display the organization in your state as the top result.

If you live in a very large state, check to see if they have an office near you. Because it is sometimes difficult to find such programs listed at state bar websites, to save time, call them and ask if they have a program that provides any type of free or subsidized legal services to small and/or low income business owners.

If they do, ask them for a website link and the name and contact information of the person in charge of the program so you can follow up for further information. You may have to certify that you meet certain criteria by filling out a form or two.

If you find such a program in your state, feel free to share it in the comments section so others can benefit.

Top 10 Small Business Administration Website Links

Quick Links To The Information Indies Need Most

When starting a business, many people start with Google. That's fine, and it works well when you are looking for a lot of information about a lot of things. But don't forget that the United States government has two websites with thousands of links to help you start and manage your business.

           Links_352

Business.gov is helps businesses do business with the government. While many Indie Business owners are not concerned specifically with that, the site is filled with information and links that are highly relevant for Indies. The United States Small Business Administration website is another great resource.

Based on the most frequently asked concerns and questions I receive from clients and members of the Indie Beauty Network, I compiled a list of the 10 links at these two sites that I think are most useful.
