Welcome To Sophia, The New Indie Assistant!

by Donna Maria

This is a banner week for Indie! Remember I told you about embracing change? Well, I’m doing a lot of that this week. First off, I’m signing a lease for our first out-of-home office space since I started Indie Business in 2000. But even more exciting than that, I’ve just hired Indie’s first official in-office assistant. Meet Sophia President!

Sophia President

Originally from Oakland, Ca, Sophia has lived in Charlotte, NC, all of her adult life. I met her last year at Indie Business Breakfast Charlotte (FaceBook Photo Gallery), and was impressed with her kind spirit and eagerness to learn. Just look at that smile! We’ve remained in touch, and the time is perfectly right for Sophia to join the Indie Team!

Sophia is a wife and mom who loves crafting — especially making and telling others about Indie mineral makeup, hair products and bath and body goodies. (Does she sound like the perfect fit or what?) Sophia also enjoys leading women’s spiritual study groups. Darryl, my business partner husband, and I are excited to welcome Sophia, and hope you will welcome her too!

Please follow Sophia on Twitter, so you can stay up to date on Indie news and updates. Also, if you cannot get in touch with me for any reason, please contact Sophia, either on Twitter or via email at Sophia [at] indiebeautynetwork [dot] com. She is by my side and knows my every move!

Thanks for the well wishes, Lori! I'm excited about the new opportunities this will mean for all of my Indies! And I can't wait to hear more about your trip to Paris — and your Nova Studio birthday celebration!

LOL! If you ever see a photo where there's a bit of a mess, rest assured that it's me and not Sophia — and not Darryl. It's always me. Thanks for the well wishes!

He is always right on time, indeed. It was right to be in our home offices exclusively for 10 years. It is now time to be where the action is and the people are! I wish I could set up an office in every city where there are Indies. That would be a lot of offices. Hmmmm …

Ginger! Oh, how I have missed you. If I were in your state, I would have tried my darndest to recruit you. We always worked together so well, I think. I never had to worry when Ginger was on the case! You are an amazing lady and anyone who gets a chance to work with you is indeed blessed. I'm so glad we are still in touch!

Congrats Donna on the new space and new assistant Sophia! With all of the great services you offer and free business insight, I'm sure you two will require more space soon! I know I have learned tons from you (which has been invaluable). Good luck and keep up the great work!

Thank you brother! Not sure if we'll be needing more space in the near future, but we're always open for new opportunities as you know. Your encouragement means a lot to us!

Hi Sophia! I'm so glad that DM has some help now. Are you going to be apprehending her tweet devices so she can rest on occasion? LOL

  • http://www.indiebusinessblog.com Donna Maria Coles Johnson

Lorraine! You have me pegged! Well, Sophia is undergoing some pretty intensive training as you might imagine. It may take her a while to confiscate my Twitter devices. I can tell you that my business partner husband is happy to have some help in that department. But I really don't think I'm that bad. … (I would say that though, wouldn't I?) Thank you so much for taking a moment to come here and welcome Sophia!
